The #1 question I get about weight loss is Where do I start? After 3 1/2 months of strict eating/working out to prepare for my recent fight, I eased up A LOT for the past couple weeks just to give my mind and body a break and enjoy all of my favorites that Ive been passing up the past several months. I cant believe how fast the inches crept back!!! Im now asking myself, Where do I start??? My answer to myself is to get back to the basics. When I began this journey, my trainer led me with baby steps. Im a big believer in baby steps. So, this week, I start with getting my water and calories in check and get my butt moving again!!! These are good steps to start with for anyone who is wanting to lose weight. The water will help flush all the junk out of your system, tracking your food and calories will get you consuming the right amount to make weight loss possible and exercise will boost your metabolism. So, heres my steps for this week: #1 Drink at least 3-4 liters of water each day #2 Track all calories consumed/burned (I use MyFitnessPal. Its actually very simple and not time consuming at all, approx. a minute or less per meal). #3 Getting back to my regular Kickboxing classes and hitting the gym with friends to get extra cardio in...And Im excited to start adding some weight training!!! If youre just starting out, the cardio can be as simple as going for a 2 mile walk 4-6 days a week. When I first started, at 239 lbs, 2 miles took me 45 minutes to complete. Each day, I timed myself and my goal was simply to beat my previous time. ~ Jamie
