The 114th annual day of prestigious Hindu College was a hit with a witty speech by one of the most prominent ‘Stephanian’ Union Minister Shashi Tharoor addressing students on Friday. Delhi University’s two most prestigious colleges Hindu and St.Stephens are believed to be rivals. Be it academic activities, or dance competition or any other activity, both the colleges are staunchest competitor. When Tharoor said that this, the entire auditorium went live with applause. Tharoor spoke at length about the changing perspective of the world about India. He said that the country is in the changing phase in which a battle is on between traditions and change. He said that with a young population of 540 million, India is the youngest nation in the world and it would soon be world’s most dynamic country. He said that young India would have to root out factors that would hamper country’s growth. Talking of education scenario in the country, he said that Indian engineers, doctors and entrereneurs are already ruling the industry across the world. He stressed the on the need to develop hardware, manufacturing and education sectors. One of the most prolific politicians !
