The 18th Fires Brigade (Airborne) is now officially the 18th Field Artillery Brigade. Early next year, they will transition to the XVIII Airborne Corps. Last week, they held a ceremony where they donned their new unit patch. “By placing the 18th Field Artillery Brigade patch back on our left arm and switching the maroon beret for the official headgear of the Army, our Brigade officially becomes one of only four Corps level Field Artillery Brigades in the Army, and I would add, remains the best Field Artillery Brigade in the world,” said Col. Smith.
