The 2014 Celtic Challenge race is under way—the world’s longest true rowing race where teams race from Arklow in County Wicklow, Ireland to Aberystwyth on the Welsh coast, a distance of about 90 nautical miles. The St.Michaels Rowing Club - Dún Laoghaire crew is pulling away across the Irish Sea RIGHT NOW in ST. MICHAEL, one of the clubs traditional wooden skiffs. Cheer them on and watch their progress at yb.tl/cc2014 Thanks to Darren Kelly for posting the clubs brand-new skiff on WOODENBOAT today (go to the recent posts by others to have a look—shes a beauty!).
