Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima said revenue collection from sin tax has helped boost the coffers of the government, but he added that tax collection should be improved, including from the sector of the self-employed. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amado Tetangco said that despite the moderate growth in the first quarter of the year, the country macroeconomic fundamentals remained strong.
