The 4th annual Friends of Aaron Martinuzzi Fun Run Walk is now a distant memory. If you were unable to make it, we held the event once again at Kensington Metro Park, West Boat Launch. This year, Sept 8 proved to be a winner; the weather was beautiful. So warm! 120 people came out to run, walk, or just volunteer and cheer others on, and see friends. So down a little from the year before, but definitely still a solid turnout, and the pledges are still coming in. Thank you, thank you. So far, the event has raised almost $18,000 towards Aaron’s rehabilitation and care. We had generous donations again courtesy of Westborn Markets, for the apples, bananas, grapes and oranges, also Moosejaw Mountaineering for the clothing and swag. All of the printing and paper was donated by the accounting firm of Lis, McCallion & Raymor, Livonia, MI. The Tiger tickets were donated by Lisa and Jack Johnson, and the T shirts were provided once again by Uniforms and More, Livonia, MI, at a great price. This year the event was made even more exciting and ‘professional’ by the addition of a timing clock! Aaron called an old friend from swim team days, who is now head coach of the Livonia Community Swim Club, and he provided the timing equipment for the day of the run. Thank you, Joe Bublitz!
