* The 52 Week Project – A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, for one year. * 24/52 — I was beginning to wonder if I would ever have a moment to post this week’s portrait. Last week was a rough one that has left me flailing wildly behind on everything. It started with a 103-degree fever last Sunday night. As it turned out, he had an upper respiratory infection, turned double ear infection and eye infection. All of this, while at the same time, he was breaking his top-right, incisor. Yes, it was a rough weekend, indeed. There were many sleepless nights and long days spent cuddling on the couch watching more Curious George than I even care to think about. To add insult to injury, it rained every day last week, so we weren’t even able to sneak outside for a bit of sun. We received a misdiagnosis on Monday by one of the pediatricians in the practice that we use. Gratefully, M. recommended that I call again on Tuesday night as things were only getting worse. We went in on Wednesday morning and saw our regular pediatrician. We got a proper diagnosis and started R. on antibiotics that day. He’s been steadily getting better since then. He’s much better now, practically back to his old self, save for a stubborn runny nose. The weather broke on Saturday and we ventured out into the yard for some playtime. In this portrait Roman is splashing in the water table that he received for his birthday. He absolutely loves water and would play in it all day if we let him.
