The 70s iconic Glam groups only feature film - touted as their Hard Days Night. When Slade announced it was making a film, the public expected the glam, the sideburns, the singalong choruses and the nasty suits but the actual result was a darker, more gritty and honest portrayal of life atop the charts in 1970s UK. Directed by Richard Loncraine, the film explores the dark side of a pop icon - the hungry promoters and hangers on all waiting for their slice of the pop pie. Showing the rise of a band of unknowns from the counties as they rise to the top of their game, Slade play themselves in a tale that must surely have been seen by the makers of Spinal Tap, though the laughs are definitely fewer.
