The 9/11 Memorial Museum dedication ceremony was held today in New York City. The ceremony included stories that will be told in the museum, which will open to the public May 21. #911Museum That made us think about a hero close to our heart, Mark Bingham, who, during the September 11 attacks, was a passenger on board United Airlines Flight 93. Bingham is believed to have been one of the passengers who, along with Todd Beamer, Tom Burnett and Jeremy Glick, formed the plan to overtake the plane from the hijackers, and led the effort that resulted in the crash of the plane into a field near Shanksville. Both for his heroic actions on United 93, as well as his athletic physique and masculine lifestyle, Bingham has been widely honored posthumously for having smashed the gay stereotype mold and really opened the door to many others that came after him. If you want to learn more about Bingham, the Out Twin Cities Film Festival will be showing The Rugby Player on its opening night, Wednesday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Buy tickets now for only $10! brownpapertickets/event/662519
