The 9 Cs OF ANY GREAT RELATIONSHIP!!! ... A must read for every Single and Married! Every great relationship is built based on principles, it does not happen by chance or by default. Thus, I have outlined some of the principles that will guarantee a successful marital relationship if they are applied. 1.COMMUNICATION: Communication is an important element of a relationship without which it will not survive. As a matter, communication involves what you say, why you say it and how you say. It is verbal and nonverbal. The most important part of communication is the ability to listen, no wonder God gave us two ears and one mouth. To improve your relationship, you must improve your communication skills. 2.CARE: To care for someone means to feel concerned or interested in the individual; you attach importance to him or her. People do not care how much you love until you show how much you care. 3.COMMITTMENT: In a world when many people fall in and out of love any how, the importance of commitment cannot be overemphasized. Many make promises of everlasting love but very few are committed to staying in love. How committed are you to making your relationship work? How committed are you in order o do your best, to be the best and to give your best the one you love? 4.CO-OPERATION: In any relationship, cooperation is important because a house that is divided against itself shall not stand. You must support each other, work together as a team to achieve your relational goals an not jeopardise the interest of each other. Unity is power. You can achieve the impossible when you are united with your mate. 5.COVENANT: Marriage is a covenant and not just a piece of document. Do not forget that God is the one who initiated such covenant, hence it must not be taken for granted. When entering into the covenant of marriage, you are expected to be faithful,to respect and love each other. God hates covenant breakers, thus do not place yourself where God will hate your actions. Be faithful to your vows. 6.COMFORT: You need to be a source of comfort and encouragement to your mate. Your relationship must create a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint for your mate. However, if you verbally, emotionally or physically abuse your mate, your relationship is no longer a source of comfort for him or her. When your mate is passing through tough times, always be a shoulder for her to lean on. Your encouraging words may be all he or she needs to pull through. 7.CHARACTER: Any relationship is as good or as bad as the character of the couple involved. You could have great a personality that makes others like you once they come in contact with you. However, your talent, charisma, appearance and all lots more cannot sustain your marriage if you do not have good character. Your character is the real you and that is what you bring to the relationship. 8.CREATIVITY: Creativity is the use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness. There is always a better way of doing something. There is always room for improvement. Find a way of improving your relationship, make it better daily. By being creative, you can find ways to keep your relationship dynamic and interesting. Creativity can help you wade through issues that affect your relationship. Creativity will also help you deal with changes and circumstances you cannot control. 9.CONNECTION: Keep being connected to your mate emotionally, spiritually and physically. Avoid anything that makes you disconnect with each other and when you disconnect, be quick to reconnect with him or her. You need to be connected to God the source of love, this will enable you maintain a spiritual candour necesssary for building a godly home. As many as are willing to put these principles to work, I pray that God will grant us the grace we need in marriage in Jesus name.
