The 90s roll again in this TV commercial I appear in as a mad scientist for a truly idiotic product, Squand. This sand toy was actually invented right after World War II and first marketed in the early 50s under another name. While its true that you can really sculpt stuff underwater with it, the fact that it is pretty messy turned it into only a briefly popular fad item. Then come the 90s. The patent was purchased by another firm and the product relaunched as Squand -- and, as I note on screen, :you cant get it wet! That was true -- but the various colors of special sand available STILL were a mess to use -- and as far as I know Squand is no longer available. But this commercial ran night and day on kids televsion in the 90s and sold a ton of the stuff.
