The ADP is currently hiring a Community Development Manager This position is responsible for managing the ADP’s Community Development efforts in close coordination with the ADP’s Business Development Director and President. This position reports directly to the Business Development Director and is part of the Economic Development Division. Job Profile: The Community Development Manager will be engaged in local, state, and federal governmental affairs, military relations, university relations, etc. This position will also entail marketing the Southeast Mississippi Community Investment Corporation (SEMCIC) loan program, working on education initiatives with the Chamber of Commerce Division, supporting chamber staff with legislative and military events, and assisting the economic development team with all aspects of accomplishing the division’s goals and objectives. SEMCIC loan program requires close interaction with the ADP’s VP, Finance and Administration. Education/Experience: The Community Development Manager must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. A minimum of one year full-time work experience in community development, economic development, marketing, or business development is preferred but not required. A master’s degree in economic development or business is a plus and may be substituted for the full-time work experience. Position Requirements: - Must have impeccable oral and written communication skills - Must be passionate about promoting the Hattiesburg region - Must be able to effectively interact with the ADP staff, boards, investors, community leaders, elected officials, university officials, existing businesses, ADP members, community and economic development allies, etc. - Must exude confidence yet demonstrate humility - Must work extremely well in a team environment - Must have a sincere concern for helping maintain and create new jobs around the region - Must have a desire to help small businesses grow and prosper - Must learn the SEMCIC loan program and promote it effectively while interacting closely with SEMCIC member banks and SEMCIC board members - Must have a desire to help connect educators and students with area businesses - Must lead our Post Graduate Success Support Initiative - Must attend and represent the ADP at select meetings with area units of government - Will be involved in all aspects of governmental, military, university, and general community relations - Will serve as a link between the Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce Divisions - Must attend ADP functions - Other duties will be required as assigned by the ADP President and Business Development Director - Occasional out of area travel is required - Working before hours and after hours will be necessary at times - Community Development Manager is an exempt position Please submit cover letter, resume, salary history, and salary requirements electronically to Chad Newell, President, ADP, adp@theadp.
