The Administration is asking for $3.8B for the border crisis. I looked it up. The MQ9 Reaper (Predator Drone) costs $16.9M each. They have infrared and long range capabilities. Lets say the government were to station 10 (and that is a BIG NUMBER) to cover the southern border. Whenever a group of people are spotted in the border area headed into the US, the border patrol is dispatched to intercept them. It sounds so easy. I know there are quirks. But the aircraft is the best way to cover large acreage economically. Btw, with $3.8B you could purchase 223 of those aircraft!!!!
