The Adventures of Bill at Montessori Training June 18, 2013 This is an interesting place. I am trying to get into a routine each day. I am missing my family very much and thought if I could get into a regular routine it would keep my occupied. On my walk this morning I was really impressed with the amount of trash. The trash is set out on the curb for pick up. I have gotten so use to setting our trash out in the nice container just like everyone else and not thinking twice about it. I do teach a section on the environment in the classroom and we do talk about the waste humans produce and recycling and how important it is to try and control it. There is just something about walking past all of the trash setting by the street that really brings the lessons home. When I think about the millions of people and the amount of trash we produce…Wow! The first session today was The First Six years of life; the sensitive periods of movement, Language, Small objects, order, music, grace and courtesy, refinement of the senses, writing, reading, special relationships, mathematics. Next up came the “Three Periods of Learning”. The afternoon consisted of “Cosmic Education” with a dash of “Policies and Procedures” to rape up the day at 8PM. It is now time to work with my study group. I believe everything has its appointed time and place. This is mine. I am so excited to be here. The Long Island Sound from the geocache site.
