The Affordable Health Care Act (ACA and aka Obamacare) is not on - TopicsExpress

The Affordable Health Care Act (ACA and aka Obamacare) is not on directly on trial with this congressional oversight hearing, but it actually is. Many have proudly stated that it has worked or that it is a success because they say that more people now have insurance. The focus in pushing this has been to provide INSURANCE to more people. Now we are finding that even the numbers of the increase of people now having insurance are/were falsely higher than they should be because the number included a doubling of the people getting dental insurance. So the statistical numbers that people were using to exclaim the success of the ACA by the increase in those obtaining health insurance are actually less. BUT I still argue that we are looking at the wrong point or issue. The REAL objective that we want is for people to be able to AFFORD GOOD healthcare!! We are totally missing out on our whole goal! By pushing one piece and focusing on the objective of insurance we are missing the mark of reaching our goal of AFFORDABLE GOOD healthcare! Costs have actually gone up! True that some people now have insurance but at what cost? Anyone who has non-subsidized private insurance has had a significant increase in not only premiums but significantly increased deductibles. This is a redistribution of wealth. A redistribution of wealth is what actually what bleeding hearts want--besides the rich do not need all that money, right? Okay, maybe not but if it strictly was just a redistribution of wealth, then why are all the costs increasing? I am not talking premiums and deductibles here but the actual cost of providing healthcare. Medicines and services are much more expensive. The cost of delivering services has become more--SIGNIFICANTLY more (especially due to electronic records and the collection of data) with a decrease in physician and healthcare provider reimbursement and limits to services...
