The African National Congress welcomes the arrest of at least Five people possibly linked to the recent mall robberies in Gauteng as announced earlier today by the Gauteng police commissioner Lt-Gen Lesetja Mothiba. We equally condemn these criminal activities which causes uneasiness to many shoppers and mall workers across the country, in particular the Gauteng Province. The ANC is committed to creating a safe South Africa for all who live in it. It is with this reason that we call on all people to work together with the South African Police Services by assisting with information that could lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of these criminals.
