The Agassiz Chamber Music Festival is delighted to announce the appointment of well-known Winnipeg Educator and Arts Administrator Reid Harrison as its new Festival Director. He will begin this new part-time position January 1, 2015. Reid has a long history with the performing arts scene in Winnipeg. He is currently part-time General Manager of Rosamunde, co-founder and one of two artistic directors with Dry Cold Productions and has been a member of the board of the Gilbert & Sullivan Society since 1990 (serving two terms as the Society’s President). In 2014 Reid retired as an educator with the Winnipeg School Division after almost 40 years of having taught English, Drama and Music. As well as being a teacher, he also served as Department Head of English and Department Head of Fine Arts at Kelvin High and directed over 25 musicals at Kelvin and Grant Park High Schools. He succeeds Rita Menzies who has been part-time Festival Director of Agassiz Chamber Music with great distinction for ten years. The Agassiz Chamber Music Festival, founded in 1999 by its Artist Director Paul Marleyn, just completed its 15th season of annual June festivals with a very successful International Cello Festival.
