The Alabama legislature is not sufficiently funding education in Alabama. Our SDE is raising our standards (for teaching and learning (and they need to keep raising it) but reducing funding at the same time?!?! This is not about giving teachers raises ~ Ive always felt Ive been adequately compensated for my work ~ I make enough. But Im seeing ~ for the first time in MANY years ~ the effects of reduced funding and how it is now reaching my students. Please research and learn the issues at hand and help us push for adequate funding. This isnt a republican or democratic issue. Its our kids and accountability. Hold the decision makers to a higher standard.
