The Albuquerque Police Department in the state of New Mexico has repeatedly used excessive force and violated citizens Fourth Amendment rights, according to a report by the Department of Justice. There have long been allegations against the citys police department regarding use of excessive force and police brutality, but the issue became a national story after video surfaced online of police shooting and killing a camping homeless man. The video sparked protests and clashes with police, and prompted the DOJ to take a closer look into the department.
