The Alexandria VCP lab were treated to a guest lecture from Paul Kimberly, Program Analyst and Digitization Manager at the National Museum of Natural History, and Riccardo Ferrante, Director of Digital Services and IT Archivist at the Smithsonian Institution (SI) Archives. They presented on the current digitization efforts and on the SI Transcription Center. They also spoke on potential fellowship and internship opportunities with various Smithsonian Institution divisions. We will continue to work with Paul and Riccardo on the placement of VCP technicians/graduates in the digitization efforts at the Smithsonian Institution. https://transcription.si.edu
