The Alta-Aurelia/Lawton-Bronson game Saturday was a great tribute to Connor Weiland, the young Warriors player who lost his life a few days earlier in a farm accident. Much appreciation to Lawton, which helped to make this a special moment. According to a post on the Alta-Aurelia football page, Lawton contacted the local school after the tragedy to see if it would help to delay the game until Saturday. In addition, apparently Lawton purchased stickers with CW on them for all the players to wear on their helmets in honor of Connor. Lawton also has planned prior to the game to have all players meet on the field for a moment of silence and to relaese balloons for Connor. The Alta-Aurelia fans passed around a card to express their thanks. Kindness and class all the way around.
