The Aman Telehealth team received a call of appreciation recently and here is what the caller had to say: “Ever since our daughter Saima was born on 23 November 2007, we did not see any major issue, except a little squint. We used to go to doctors for follow up on this problem regularly. However, in January 2011 Saima vomited & had fits for the first time in her life. At that time we used Aman Ambulance to take her to a hospital. Our daughter continued to suffer like this for the next 2 to 3 months. Her fits lasted for 30-60 seconds twice or three times in a day. In July 2013, she was paralyzed after having a long duration of fit this time. I was desperately looking for possible help and was willing to go anywhere in the world for her. However, I was lucky that I did not have to go too far. I saw a message from Aman Foundation’s new revolutionary service named AMAN TELEHEALTH whereby medical guidance is given through phone. I did not hesitate and called immediately. And I thank God for having taken this decision. I started to get counselling services from AMAN TELEHEALTH and I am thankful to the provided information about the speech therapist at a nearby hospital due to which her ability to converse improved. Furthermore, my daughter has really benefited from the advice given on physiotherapy technique of pressing ball with the paralyzed arm. She has now started moving her fingers, hand & arm. With the medical assistance & mental counseling, I was able to mobilize my daughter’s body, she is improving and I hope that she will be stable soon & will be able to go to school shortly. Now my daughter is improving slowly day by day, she is crawling on her knees once or twice a week. We are giving epileptic medicines twice a day as advised by Neuro Physician, get physiotherapy sessions twice or thrice a week and regular speech therapy as per AMANTELEHEALTH advice. I am really grateful & appreciate AMAN TELEHEALTH for their role in improving my daughter’s condition and her life.” If you or anyone you know have a similar story, do share it with us.
