The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a movie about selfishness. Every character is an inherently selfish person, whose actions lead to their own downfall. Its a bit bloated, with too many subplots, a waste of the talents of Paul Giamatti, Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan. If each character had been allowed a bigger platform for their stories separately, you could have had a more compelling sequel. this isnt Man of Steel territory, I enjoyed it a lot more than I did MOS. That said, Dane Dehaan is a star in the making. Emma Stone and Andrew garfield are very talented actors I enjoyed their interaction as Petter and Gwen more than the fight scenes, which were hard to follow and looked like cut scenes from a video game. Jamie foxx as Max Dillon was too much like Jim Carreys pre Riddler in Batman Forever and Uma Thurmans Pam Isley/pre Poison Ivy in Batman and Robin. Unbelievably geeky and obsessive of the hero. Amazing Spider-Man 2 left me feeling disinterested in a sequel. They improved a lot of the flaws of the first movie, but ultimately, it needed something more.
