The Amphitheater in Albania It was build in the beginning of the 2-nd century A.D. It is compared with the most famous amphitheaters of antiquity. The elliptical shape with biggest axis is more than 120m. And a of height 20m.Its Capacity is estimated to approximately from 15000 to 18000 spectators. In the amphitheater, slave owners amused themselves watching gladiators fights, beasts fights and differents artistic shows. This construction represents economic power of Durrachion as one of the most important cities of the Adriatic region. The amphitheater was discovered in 1966 by Arch. Vangel Toçi.
