The Anchorage Hotel, Whale Watch & Dive Centre invites the General Public to a Lecture “The Dominica Sperm Whale Project” by Shane Gero, M.Sc., NSERC Ph.D. Candidate, Killam Scholar, Department of Biology, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada Shane mentored under Dr. Hal Whitehead through his masters and doctoral work at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, the latter of which he is currently concluding. The Dominica Sperm Whale Project, a long-term behavioural study of sperm whale families, grew from this partnership and has made advances in our understanding of sperm whale social relationships, babysitting, diet, movement and communication.
