The Anthon American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Membership Drive Supper, Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, @ 6:00 p.m. at the Legion Hall A delicious Spaghetti Supper will be served. All members are encouraged to attend. The Auxiliary is also interested in signing up new members that evening. Women eligible for membership in the Auxiliary if they are themselves a veteran who served honorably or if they fall into one of the following categories: wife, widow, mother (foster or step), sister (foster, half, or step), daughter (foster or step), granddaughter, great granddaughter, grandmother, or great grandmother of an active duty service member or veteran who served honorably during any of the eligible war eras listed: WWI, WWII, U.S. Merchant Marines, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon/Grenada, Panama, Desert Shield/Desert Storm/War on Terror. The National Auxiliary President’s theme this year is “Patriotism Begins at Home.” We need to continue to teach our youth what it means to love our country, have pride in this great nation, and have pride and honor those who are serving and have served so bravely to keep our country free. Become part of the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization who continue to honor and support our veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace, and security.
