The Ashley Grade School Board of Education met Monday night and Superintendent Brian Hodge says three of the Board members will be on a negotiating committee as the teachers’ contracts expire at the end of June 2014. These include Terry Schettler, Jeff Stern and Andy Rynski. The school will also apply for a school and safety grant that the school can use to make the school safer says Hodge, and that includes items such as cameras, fix the school to have smaller windows, take windows out of doors, etc. They also approved the purchase of 20 cases of paper from Nashville High School, as that school can get a better price in bulk purchasing, and so Ashley gets their supply of paper that way. The Board also approved a new computer unit for the library, as the current unit is old, slow and needs to be replaced. They also approved an estimate of $350 from Ideal Environmental Engineering Incorporated for bleacher inspection, something that is done every couple of years.
