The Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) would like to invite you to attend our Early Childhood Development (ECD) webinar, organised in collaboration with Save the Children. The webinar is a web-based seminar that you may attend virtually from anywhere as long as you have access to the Internet. Please share this announcement with your colleagues who may be interested in this topic. Topic: Early Childhood Development on the Global Agenda: Where are we today? In 2015, the Millennium Development Goals, which helped to channel political commitment and investments to bring about reductions in poverty, child mortality and improvements in educational enrolment, will expire. This presents an opportunity to advocate for the inclusion of ECD in the post-2015 agenda. A measurable and actionable ECD goal to reduce by half the number of children under age five who fail to reach their developmental potential will not only strengthen efforts towards the health, development and wellbeing of young children, but also work to reduce the inter-generational transmission of poverty and inequality. This webinar aims to provide ECD practitioners, activists, programmers and policy-makers with a complete understanding of the current efforts to integrate ECD in the post-2015 goals. The webinar will focus on the following key questions: 1. What have we done so far in the post-2015 process? 2. Where are we heading? 3. What is our advocacy strategy? About the presenter: Dr. Nurper Ulkuer is a former Senior Advisor for Early Childhood, and Head of Early Childhood Development Unit at UNICEF New York Head Quarters.
