The Athletic Federation of Nigeria has invited no fewer than 42 athletes and 12 officials to camp ahead of the 11th Africa Junior Championship scheduled for Mauritius. AFN technical director, Omatseye Nesiama, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Wednesday that the athletes would report to camp in Sapele, Delta State on Monday. The tournament was initially scheduled to hold in South Africa from June 26 to 30 but will now hold from August 29 to September 1 in Mauritius. Nesiama also told NAN that the athletes would have to report with their international passports and adhere strictly to the camp rules. He said that training in the camp would help to put the athletes in better shape ahead of the continental meet. The invited athletes for the men’s 100m event are Harry Chukwudike, Anthony Egode, Mamus Emoobunovie, Victor Ikhazoboh, Ini-Oluwa Victor and Divine Oduduru. Also in the team are Briggs Tamunotonye and Akerele Omeiza for the 200m event, while Oshasha Samson, Ottah Ugochukwu, Akerele Omeiza, Ebelebe Charles, Adeniji Ademola and Japhet Samuel are for the 400m event. Agboola Daniel will feature in the 800m, while Ifeanyi Atuma and Bashiru Abdullahi are to participate in the110m event. The invited coaches are Tobias Igwe, Daniel Etsebiminor, Uche Emedolu, Maria Usifo, Peter Oboh, Adebayo Bada, Saheed Alabi, Brown Ebewele, Ayodele Solaja, Tunde Sulaimon, Ken Onuaguluchi.
