The Atomium is currently holding an exhibition titled Orange Dreams. The exhibition, which runs till 25 May 2015, shows through its installations the playful and most original aspects of plastic design. The plastic objects come from the extraordinary Plasticarium private collection. Orange Dreams has been put together by Philippe Decelle, the exhibition curator. Through the exhibition, the public will be able to (re)discover this symbolic material from the Golden Sixties and modern consumerism. From daily utility products to art creations, the colour orange is everywhere in this vibrant exhibition specifically designed and staged for the Atomium and its unique architecture. Meanwhile, the Atomium plans to open a new museum in a part of the Trade Mart Brussels, which has a surface area of 5,000 sq m. The Plasticarium-Art & Design Atomium Museum is scheduled to open its doors in December 2015. The museum will hold a permanent exhibition, based on the collection of the Plasticarium, and temporary exhibitions on art and design of the 20th and 21st centuries.
