The Attack on Kano, Nigeria on Jumuah and the killing and wounding of scores of Muslims is a dagger into the heart of the Muslim Ummah! Kano to Nigeria is like Damascus to Syria. It is the place where Islam entered Hausaland, the home of many great scholars, the seat of ancient tradition. I met a Muslim in Kano who could trace his family back ten strong generations in Islam! Whoever did this atrocity whether Boko Haram or a Third Force needs to be stopped immediately. All people of consciousness need to stand together to protect this gem of Islam. On behalf of myself, my wife Kareema, my family and colleagues, We stand with you Kano and pray that Almighty Allah protects you, the people of this region and that He enables us to restore peace and justice to our lands.
