The Austin 1800 is a vehicle of stealth in that it was revolutionary car in its time and the car of the twentieth century. It has a body strength the strongest of its type in the world. it has liquid suspension, front wheel drive, power assisted brakes, disc brakes up front and drum on the rear and all in the 1960s. Its features still have not been exceeded by the average massed produced car in to the twenty first century only matched and updated. The Ute is a rare beast. The Austin 1800 and the ute are under stated and under appreciated by people that just will never get it anyway. The ute will be a rare and very collectible car in the future and they are already of 40 years old. Lets see how many cars from the mid 1970s onwards will last over 40 years let along anything from the 1980s and 1990s that are already falling apart and being scrapped.
