FIRST (Beauty and Blessings Inside Every Sister) training held December 16th and was a HUGE success. These AWESOME women braved the storm and came out to learn more about the program. Approximately 30 women from Sacramento and West Sacramento were in attendance! Congratulations to our own GENESIS Women, Sisters Deneen Hayes, Ruth Jones and Sophia Holmes who completed last nights training and are our newest Mentoring Moms! We are also in need of pregnant women. She must be a resident of Sacramento County that identifies herself or baby as African American and agree to meet the requirements to participate. Early participation (first trimester) is encouraged to receive MAXIMUM program benefits for her and her child. All services provided are FREE and neither mentors or life givers are required to be members of GENESIS or any other church). There is room for more Mentoring Moms AND Life Givers (pregnant women). Volunteer Mentoring Moms are asked to devote just 8 hours a month to assist a life giver towards a healthy child birth. When the next training session is scheduled, interested individuals will be notified. More information and applications are available in the GENESIS hurch foyer and via ourbabiesfirst.org.
