The Beast is my #1 wooden rollercoaster. There have been lots of questions about the Beast over the years, about trims, trains and more. The Beast testing in 1979 video shows the original skid brakes on the first drop, camel hump, and brake shed/final brake run which was later converted over to fin brakes during the 90s, then in the early 2000s changed over to magnetic trims. As for the trains, the Beast originally ran the 4 bench PTC trains, which were modified in its early years to become the 3 bench trains that we have today, lots of rebanking of the turns to cut down on wear and tear over the years. In 79 it opened as the biggest, baddest wooden coaster in the world, and is still an awesome ride 36 years later. #THEBEAST
