The Beatles were the first boy band. I just read this in a serious magazine. People say this when they want to prove they know nothing, zero, nada, zilch about music. Did the Backstreet Boys write their own music? Did the New Kids play their own instruments? Did NSync play to hookers and thugs in boozy clubs across the country, for years, in order to sharpen their musical chops? Did 98 Degrees have 27 number one songs? (Did any of them even come close?) Were The Beatles assembled by a corporate conglomerate based on head shots? Will people be listening to One Direction in 2114 or The Beatles?
