The Bible is enough. God doesn’t need help. The Spirit of Christ, who superintended the writers of Scripture, did his job flawlessly. Nothing is missing. Nothing should be added. God can stand on his own two literary feet. There is exactly one legitimate stumbling block between lost people and their Maker: the offense of the Cross. If people balk at a crucified Savior, they’ll answer to God for that. Let’s make sure we’re not adding even the slightest needless stumbling block (Romans 14:13). That same cross, and the risen, ascended Savior who now dwells within regenerated hearts, never ceases to be the main thing—indeed, the only thing—needed for a life of holiness and grace. But God help us if our friends stumble over our self-defined, self-serving demands—whether religious, cultural, or ethical. ~GRACE INTERVENTION... its here at my house, coming to bookstores soon.
