The Bible states, …There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto The Lord. Deuteronomy 18 v 10-12. HALLOWE’EN ! The most evil time of the year. Hallowe’en is the most evil time of the year and should not be acknowledged in any way – especially by Bible-believing Christians. We must never, ever allow our children or grandchildren to be dressed up as witches, ghosts or anything that personifies evil. Our children should never be exposed to any weird practices such as ouija boards, horror movies, stories involving witches, ghosts or monsters – all of these things frighten, scare, cause nightmares and lots of other difficulties. Without scaring our children – we should gently but firmly instruct them how wrong it is to read occult based Books, eg Harry Potter, Lord of the rings, Chronicles of Narnia etc. (Shocked ! – send for further information.) We believe that over the past 40 years there has been a renewed interest in the occult and a revival of many occultic practices. We further believe that Hallowe’en is an ‘International occultic festival’ – with devil-worship taking place – on a massive scale. It would make a huge difference if devil-worshippers could realise that ‘their master’ is subject to God in everything. If only they would take ‘on board’ the following Biblical information:- This is God’s Word – regarding the devil. How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will also sit upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee, shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, (disgustingly) Is this the man that made the earth tremble, that did shake the kingdoms; that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of the prisoners? Isaiah 14 v 12-17. Pay particular attention to ‘they that see thee, shall narrowly look upon thee.’ In other words, they will be disgusted and squirm when they see the one who deceived them. So, if you are a devil-worshipper – Heed the Warning. Turn to Jesus – Repent of your sins. Receive His full and free Salvation before it is too late. Jesus loves You. The Blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1 v 7. If The Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8 v 36. We believe Hallowe’en is one of man’s greatest expressions of rebellion against God, His Word and His Commandments. Hallowe’en today is not the harmless fun it appears to be, it is a celebration of all that is evil. It is one of the most evil times of the year when satanists and occultists the world over prepare for a massive celebration to the devil. It is a time of devil-worship. Hallowe’en is the time of the year when many people go over the top, promoting pagan activities such as seances - ouija boards -fortune-telling - tarot card reading etc. It is common knowledge from news reports – that even poor animals are exposed to the must horrific cruelty at this time of the year and believe it or not, it certainly does not end there. From various sources and many reliable contacts, we know, that human sacrifice is all part and parcel of Hallowe’en celebrations. For centuries, pagan festivals have been held on 31st October – one being the ancient Celtic festival of Shamhain – marking the beginning of winter. This was a night for remembering and communicating with the dead. Ceremonies were led by witches and sorcerers. Fortune-telling in all the various forms was popular. Bonfires were lit, sacrifices of animals and crops were made. The belief was, that if Samhain was not pleased, their crops would fail and their animals would die. When the Romans conquered Britain in 43 AD. they joined their pagan holidays to the Samhain celebrations. Subsequently a whole array of gods were worshipped and honoured on the 31st October. With the spread of Christianity – people were realising that these pagan festivals were very wrong, in fact, they acknowledged paganism was detestible in God’s sight. In their efforts to combat this evil, they introduced ALL SAINTS DAY. This was to be held on 1st November each year. It was a day for remembering all those who had faithfully served God – many being burnt or horribly tortured for their Faith in Jesus Christ. So this is how the name Hallowe’en came about. It means HALLOWED EVE. The eve of All Saints Day. This was all well and good - but again – just as happened centuries before in the time of the Romans, the two festivals became intermingled. This is very evident today where you find many Churches holding Hallowe’en parties for the children etc. Every year Hallowe’en is becoming a bigger and bigger event – making All Saints Day pale into insignificance. The Godly people of all ages, who were often martyred for their Faith in Jesus Christ, are very seldom mentioned. Hallowe’en Festivities. In some schools, when children go back in September after the Summer Holidays, they start preparing for Hallowe’en. As Hallowe’en approaches, so we see people ‘carried away’ with ‘the spirit’ behind it. Shops, supermarkets, hospitals, and other public places, are decorated with all sorts of horrible weird-looking monsters, ghosts, vampires etc. Even coffins are hung on display outside some houses. Weird! In recent years it seems to be the trend for young girls, even in the workplace, to be dressed in witches apparel with black lipstick - black nail polish - the lot. This is bad enough in shops, restaurants etc. but when it extends to those who are responsible for looking after little children in schools or playgrougps – it is outrageous. The Bible says, Prove all things; hold fast to that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5 v 21 - 22. God loves all little children – how it grieves Him – to see young children exposed to so much evil which has such an adverse affect on them - both mentally and emotionally. In schools where there is so much ‘hype’ about Hallowe’en, with all the reading of ‘ghost stories,’ etc. We believe, parents should have the right to keep their children at home - if they want to, for the two weeks leading up to 31st October. We are aware that there is an increasing number of occult-based Childrens’ Cartoons on television. Shops are also awash with occult DVD’s, toys, books etc. today. Every year, as Hallowe’en approaches these products are zealously promoted . We believe as a result of watching these DVD’s or playing with these toys over a period of time - children can become stressed, aggressive, bad-tempered, disobedient and nervous. Many have behavioural problems which get worse as they get older. This is serious. The state of society at the moment, surely says it all. Recommended reading – Turmoil in the Toybox by Joan H. Robie. The Bible says:- Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it….Proverbs 22 v 6. Time to Awake. All that is needed for evil to proceed is for Christian people to do nothing ! This situation thankfully is changing, as more and more Christian people are becoming increasingly aware of the evils of Hallowe’en. God’s own true believing people are taking their stand for what is good and right in the eyes of a Holy God. The number of people who hold Prayer Meetings in their homes on Hallowe’en night is also increasing greatly - which is wonderful - Praise The Lord. Accordingly it is our duty to God to warn everyone with whom we come in contact – to stay away from all that is evil. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, The Spirit of The Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59 v 19. The Victory of Calvary means the devil’s downfall is certain. At Calvary, Jesus defeated sin, death and the devil. By His Death and Resurrection we too, as His followers have and always will have ‘Victory in Jesus.’ Jesus is still on The Throne. He is still in control. The devil’s downfall is certain - his time is short – and he knows it – his destination is the Lake of fire. Revelation 20. As Christians, our lives should be surrendered totally and unreservedly to The Lord Jesus Christ Submit yourself to Him, bow down before Him with great humility, reverence and holiness. If you fulfil the conditions God requires of you, your power, with HIS help, will be limitless. Satan will have no choice but to flee from you. Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4 v 7. And they overcame him by the Blood of The Lamb, and by The Word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12 v 11. Putting on the whole armour of God. The Bible gives us the key for effective Christian living. Take note of the following Scriptures. Learn them off by heart. Quote them aloud. Of course, it goes without saying that the true secret and power with God is Prayer. Putting these Scriptures into action in their full context, and applying them in our own personal lives every day will give us great victory over all the power of the devil, in Jesus Name. Finally, my brethern, be strong in The Lord, and in the power of His Might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and havingdone all, to stand. Stand, therefore, having your loins gird about with Truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of Peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is The Word of God; Praying always with all Prayer and supplication in The Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me,that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of The Gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speak boldly as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6 v 10-20. O, TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD: BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT TRUSTETH IN HIM. PSALM 34 v 8. [Sent From: Handcent SMS]
