The Bible study at Calvary Chapel of Manitowoc on Sunday November 17th will be our verse-by-verse study through the Gospel of Matthew. We will cover Matthew 26:1-29 in our study on “The Passover”. For twenty-five chapters, ever since the introduction of Jesus as the descendant of David in verse 1 of chapter 1 of Matthew we see the story of Christ’s life has been moving toward a powerful, gripping climax: the murder of the King followed by his resurrection. The King has come to Jerusalem for the final time, and the leaders of the people, who hate him, are plotting his arrest and execution. Here in these verses of Matthew chapter 26 we see leaders plot to kill Jesus, we see Mary anoint Jesus for burial, we see Judas betray Him and then the Passover meal celebrated with His disciples and the institution of communion. The cross is hours away and Jesus was born to die for the sins of the world. He will finish the work that the Father sent Him to do because of His great love for us! We hope you can join us.
