The Black community is on life support right now. We are struggling to breathe in a nation that does not care if we live or die. We cant keep killing each other then raising hell when one of us dies at the hands of white people. We dont boycott hood murders, we yell free the killer all the while mourning the death of the victim! We are lost, swimming in culture that is not ours and trying to belong when we were ment to srand out! We have to stop being defined by the media and define ourselves. Until WE are tired with our bullshit we have no right to ask for change. I want to see us grow and tap into the greatness that is embedded in us all. Sadly most of my 22-26 year old counterparts are more worried about if their brows are on fleek, if their booty looks big enough, weave look natural enough and money stack tall enough. If we continue chasing money and not respect, we will lose every single time. Slavery didnt end, its look just changed.
