The Blood. There is power in the blood love Jesus. The human body can not live without blood. The blood carries life throughout the entire body. Blood represents life. Blood also represents death. When death occurs blood is shed. The reason Jesus had to die was to satisfy a debt that could only be paid by death. In the very beginning God told Adam and Eve in the day you eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall surely die. It was an eternal decree. Sin leads to death. Death has a right to reign wherever sin prevails. However Jesus Christ knew no sin. So when he died on the cross he died as an innocent man. His blood shed was a worthy trade for bloodshed of guilty sinners. The law of bloodshed for blood shed (Genesis 9:6) Death has a law that says you are a sinner and I have the right to shed your blood. But Jesus was not a sinner. Therefore he gave bloodshed for bloodshed. Death held sin over our heads. But now Jesus has something over deaths head, innocent blood shed. Everything in Gods creation works by laws. There is a law of sin and death. It states the soul that sins shall surely die. (Ezekiel 18:20) But there is also a law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. It only produces life. (Romans 8:2) The spirit of a person is in their blood. The life of the flesh is in the blood therefore the spirit is in the blood. So the Spirit of life (in) Christ Jesus is his blood. Since he was made from incorruptible seed, the Word of God and not sinful flesh; death had no right to take him. Yet he gave himself to death.(John 10:18) Jesus knew that death would have to obey the law and grant him passage back into life. This is why he was resurrected. Now that he had already taken an innocent man death was guilty of violating its own law. God had a bargaining chip for the sin debt. Blood for blood you let them go and I will not require this innocent blood at your hands. In Gods wisdom he not only set us free from death but he will destroy the enemy of death later. The Scriptures tell us that death is the last enemy to be conquered. Now that we are justified by the blood of Jesus death has something else hanging over its head more innocent blood.
