The Board created Heron Cove Telecommunication Committee (TCC) - TopicsExpress

The Board created Heron Cove Telecommunication Committee (TCC) after 33 homeowners dissatisfied with the current bulk cable TV contract presented a petition to the Board in 2012 and then the heated ongoing discussion about prices and terms of the bulk contracts happened at our FB group this year. Our community Comcast cable TV contract is close to expire and the new/renew contract will be effective for the next few years. In the next couple of days, TCС members will knock on your door doing a research to identify which service could be the best for our community. Meanwhile, I would like to give you some details of one of the options that you will see in the TCC Survey - FREE OTA HDTV Antenna (Over-The-Air High Definition TV up to 67 channels) as an alternative to the mandatory paid service. Because it is a “new guy in the town” and it may be confusing for you. This is the information that I gave the Board and TCC introducing this option: Do not need any changes in the HOA docs to provide Free OTA TV instead paid cable TV. Today OTA TV has nothing to do with the old analog one – it is digital HD since 2009 –more details here: antennadeals/TVchannels.html . HDTV-quality signal, next after Blue Ray (much better than suppressed signal from Comcast). In our community we can receive, depending on an antenna, up to 67 channels (and the new ones will be adding every year) – all stations and channels available for us now: antennaweb.org/Stations.aspx?Address=12180+Northwest+77th+Manor&City=Parkland&State=FL&ZIP=33076&Housing=S&Accuracy=8&Height=6&Obstructed=False&StationList=&Lat=26.326641&Lon=-80.288779 ] The antenna may be installed very compact outdoor, in an attic or even indoor of your choice and you will still be able to watch dozens of popular basic OTA TV channels. Today (as of 2014) we pay about $55 a month for cable TV service. By replacing it with OTA HD TV under the new bulk community service the HOA can save you this money that you can use to individually contact any TV provider (current extended basic Comcast cable TV included) if you do not enough of OTA HD TV. I hope this information will be helpful when you fill out the TCC Survey.
