The Body of Christ in this country has been divided, bruised, lambasted, discredited and wasted by too much politicking. I took political science as a an academic discipline as a means to step back and watch the dynamics of power not only in mainstream political institutions but also in the halls of so-called Christian churches. I once had a plan to write a research paper on church politics--from left to right. Well, I was appalled to witness how bishops, pastors, ministers, deacons, elders fight like wild animals for position and devour each other come election time. Umbrella organizations and coalitions have succumbed to divisive (which is really the case) political endorsements to the detriment of their church funds, unity and well-being. Many ministerial associations have become exclusive clubs which fail to address the needs of their members. Now tell me, how can the so-called believers of Christ in this country can truly campaign for righteousness, justice, and peace if they themselves (especially the powers-to-be) cannot preserve holiness and righteousness among their ranks? Remember: Judgment begins at the house of Lord. #realtalk
