The Boundary Commission has published its final recommendation today. The campaign to keep Castor & Ailsworth as part of a rural ward has been a success - well done to everyone! The report states: Based on the evidence received, we are persuaded to move away from our draft recommendations and propose a two-member ward containing the parishes of Ailsworth, Castor, Marholm, Etton, Glinton, Peakirk, Northborough, Deeping Gate and Maxey. This will allow for the maintenance of community identity within the rural areas whilst achieving good electoral equality. We are persuaded that a two-member ward is more likely to ensure effective and convenient local government for this area than a three-member warding pattern.
