The British recruited Sikh Soldiers to fight for them during the Second World War by the creation of the Sikh Regiment. They received the most medals, per capita, compared to any other unit during the war. The Sikhs were known for their honesty, bravery and loyalty. These are values that the young Sikhs today should pick up. In both World Wars 83,005 Sikhs lost their lives and 109,045 were wounded. This is a collection of 153 photos of them serving in the war. This is also how the majority of the Sikhs settled down all across the globe, opting to stay back in the land that they guarded as opposed to return home to India.
