A little about the Brain Kinsley....playing oct 2 as the Feature Artist along with Bryan Hayes...both headliners...and contestants Lisa Lambert and David Faulk.... bryanhayesmusic Brian Kingsley is a native of Saltillo, Mississippi where his roots in music started early and run deep. The grandson of Tupelo’s local legend, Greydon Rock, you could say that music was in his heart and his blood at birth. When Brian was fourteen years old, he showed a knack for the guitar and bass guitar and began to travel with his family singing Southern Gospel Music. As the years went by and this talent and natural ear for music was nurtured, it was no surprise that he received a scholarship to Northeast Mississippi Community College to play and sing for Campus Country. At Northeast he met several of his future band mates and most importantly, lifelong friends. The first band formed from this group would showcase the early music of singer/songwriter Jonathan Singleton. After leaving Northeast and Campus Country, he played with Tupelo based, Shagdoo, where he met and performed with more future members of The Grove. For two and a half years he also played with The Brandon Lay Band. In 2007, Brian met and began to play with Broken Bow recording artist, Ash Bowers. While playing for Bowers, he opened on the Young & Wild Tour for Eric Church. In 2010 they joined the Wide Open Tour to travel with Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean. While playing and singing harmony vocals for Ash Bowers, he has opened for other country music stars, such as Lori Morgan, Lady Antebellum, Andy Griggs, Jake Owen, Montgomery Gentry and many others. Brian joined open with local band, Hobo Hippie, with whom he had the honor of opening for the late country music legend, George Jones. With such an impressive road resume, sometimes its hard to find a studio log to match. However, Brian can boast of recording with artist such as Jonathan Singleton & The Grove, Sandy Carroll and Hobo Hippie, produced by six time Grammy winner, Jim Gaines. From the age of 18 until now, Brian has written a number of original songs. He has co-written with Jonathan Singleton (writer of Watching Airplanes), Frank Meyers (writer of I Swear) and Wade Kirby (writer of I Saw God Today). Currently, Brian is a “solo act” mostly playing and singing his music in intimate, acoustic settings. At least two weekends of every month he reunites with old friends to play in three or four piece bands at restaurants and bars that support local talent. He is hard at work recording his first full-length album of original material. Although, raised “in the country”, it is easy to hear the soulful overtones of the funk, rhythm and blues that have influenced him through the years come alive in his music.
