The Brothers of Theta Delta Chi welcome you to Spring Rush 2015. Come by 123 Packard to get to know the Brothers and learn more about what Theta Delta Chi is involved in on-campus and off. The Rush schedule is as follows: Tuesday, January 20th, 6:30PM-8:00PM: Dinner with the Brotherhood Come by 123 Packard Ave for dinner. This is a great chance to get to know some Theta Delts and catch a glimpse of what our brotherhood dinners are like. Thursday, January 22nd 9:00PM-11:00PM: House Tour Tour 123 Packard Ave and get to know the brotherhood in a smaller group setting. Get to see how we spend our time, and have a chance to ask us any questions you may have about the process and the brotherhood. Saturday, January 24th: By Invitation Only The final event of Spring Rush will be by invitation only. Those invited back for the final event will be notified individually with the details. Hope to see you all there. ____________ Affectionately known to the student body as 123, the Kappa Charge of the Theta Delta Chi Fraternity has enjoyed a long relationship with the Tufts University student population and the university-at-large. Founded in 1856, Kappa is Theta Delta Chis longest Charge in continuous, active existence. In addition to being a hallmark of the Tufts social scene, Theta Delta Chi has long been a leader in contributing to local philanthropies, supporting Tufts athletic teams and campus groups, and serving as a great place for students to congregate. Of note is the 2009 Relay for Life philanthropy event, in which Team Theta Delta Chi (123) set the Tufts University record for money raised, with a grand total of $9,610 (@[NjQyMTgzOTU5MjA4MTA3Omh0dHBcYS8vd3d3LnR1ZnRzZGFpbHkuY29tL3JlbGF5LWZvci1saWZlLXRvLWJyaW5nLWluLW92ZXItODAtMDAwLTEuMTYzNDIzNDo6:tuftsdaily/relay-for-life-to-bring-in-over-80-000-1.1634234]). For the 2010 Relay for Life event, Team Theta Delta Chi set the Tufts University record for money raised for the second year in a row with over $12,000. This past semester, Theta Delta Chi continued to be involved in many events such as holding a haunted house for the kids from the Mystic Learning Center, and participating in the Autism Speaks Walks. 123 has long been a leader in philanthropy here on campus, and has devoted funds, time, and effort to support Autism Speaks, American Cancer Society, Wounded Warrior Project, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and TASTE, among many other charitable organizations. Distinguished alumni include: three Tufts University presidents, including Leonard Carmichael 21 and Elmer Capen 60; Tufts athletic director and president of the NCAA Clarence P. (Pop) Houston ’14; and most recently, actor Sendhil Ramamurthy ’96, who plays geneticist Mohinder Suresh on NBC’s hit drama, Heroes. As the oldest fraternity in continuous existence here at Tufts, Theta Delta Chi has built a broad and close-knit alumni base. Theta Delta Chi alumni can be found working in important positions in just about any professional field, including finance, medicine, the legal professions, technology companies, and academia. This network is a tremendous resource for guidance and support enjoyed by Theta Delts as they strive for excellence in every aspect of their lives, both here at Tufts, and beyond the hill.
