The Burke ArtsCouncil 400 is an annual fundraiser for the Burke Arts Council and it is underway with tickets being sold at a brisk pace. The funds raised in this year’s benefit will allow the arts council to complete a dazzling beautification project of the Jailhouse Gallery Grounds. The improvements, already underway, include a new awning, window mosaics, landscaping, and signage upgrades. This is the second year for the BAC 400 fundraiser. And here’s how it works: Only four hundred tickets will be sold for $50 each. The prize packages include “Food & Flicks” – dinners and movies in Downtown Morganton; a pair of bicycles; a spa weekend at Chetola Spa in Blowing Rock; a NASCAR-Bristol Speedway Package; and your very own custom-catered wine and dine event at Silver Fork Winery for ten people. The prizes will be drawn at various Burke Arts Council events throughout the year, leading up to the Grand Prize Drawing - a trip for two to Italy to be given away on New Year’s Eve, 2013.
