The CDC continues to investigate a virus that has hundreds of kids sick around the country and has sent dozens of them to the hospital. What is causing all this - the enterovirus and it causes breathing problems. One hospital in Missouri has dealt with more than 500 cases, with several more reported in Illinois and Ohio. The virus is said to be spread from person to person and there is no specific treatment for it. The enterovirus now has doctors in Southern Arizona on alert. The Pima County Health Department has not reported any cases yet, but experts say with school being back in session, Arizona could be one of the next states hit. Not only is this advise great for parents, for those with a friend or family member with children, this is information to share with them. The virus is called enterovirus or EVD-68 for short. The Centers for Disease Control say the virus was discovered in the 1960s, but is not commonly reported in the U.S. Some of the symptoms include fever, muscle aches and a runny nose. CDC says there have been over 80 cases reported, most of which are in the mid-west.
