The CHS Boys Soccer team finished 3rd at the Carlinville Fall Cup. Carlinville beat Pleasant Plains 6-1 Friday and lost to Freeburg 5-1 this morning. The Cavies bounced back to beat Greenville 2-1 in the third place match. Carlinville is now 13-8. From The Telegraph: Carlinville Fall Cup — The Jersey Panthers claimed the tournament championship in Carlinville by beating Freeburg 4-2 in penalty kicks after battling to a draw through regulation play. Jersey, which plays at Alton on Monday, improves to 15-3-1. Jordan Jones, James Holmes, Jacob Witt and Kyle Steckel converted PKs to lift the Panthers past the Midgets in the title match. Zac Ridenour got the shutout in goal for Jersey. The Panthers advanced to the title game by beating Gillespie 7-1 and Greenville 3-1. Walter Becker and Jake Ridenhour each scored two goals in the win over Gillespie, with Zac Ridenour in goal for all three victories. In the third-place match, Carlinville defeated Greenville 2-1.
