The Cabinet Friday approved appointment of Khurshid Ahmad Ganaie, IAS, Financial Commissioner, Industries & Commerce Department, J&K, asChairman Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.A senior bureaucrat, Ganai would go for premature retirement from the service to take up the new assignment. Ganai was scheduled to retire in October 2015.The cabinet also approved appointment of Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad, IAS, Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, Mukherjeet Sharma, IFS (rtd), BR Lachotra, Director General, Economics & Statistics (std), Wali Muhammad Bhat, Director General, Accounts & Treasuries (Retired),DrTejit Singh, Prof Ophthalmology (Retired) and Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo, Director, Animal Husbandry (Retired) as members of the Commission.TANTRAY APPOINTED CHAIRMAN BOPEE:The Cabinet approved appointment of G H Tantray, former Commissioner Secretary, as Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (J&K BOPEE) for a period of two years.It also sanctioned appointment of Bimal Kumar Tickoo, Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir, as Development Commissioner (Works) in the pay scale of PB-4 of Rs. 37,400-67000 with GP of Rs. 8900 with immediate effect.It also approved placement of Tahseen Mustafa, CEO, ERA in the grade of Development Commissioner (Works) on ex-cadre basis.RETIREMENT AGE OF GDC FACULTY ENHANCED:The Cabinet also approved enhancement in the prescribed age of retirement on superannuation in case of the members of the teaching faculty of Government Dental Colleges in the State from the present 60 years to 62 years.TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP:The Cabinet approved the creation of the Technical Support Group (TSG) for implementing the RashtriyaUchchatarShiskhaAbhiyan (RUSA) with 2 posts of programmer (consolidated @ Rs 25000) and 4 posts of data operator/computer operator (consolidated @Rs 15000).CREATION OF POSTS:The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the creation of 10 posts of Under Secretaries-Secretariat cadre in the pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 with GP of Rs. 4800 in the J&K Secretariat (G) Service- I and 6 posts of Private Secretaries-Secretariat Cadre in the pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 with G.P of Rs.4800 in the J&K Secretariat (G) Service- II.The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the temporary engagement of 663 persons on casual basis for watch and ward (Chowkidar)/ Orderlies and Drivers for driving of vehicles in the newly created administrative units by the Revenue Department.The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the creation of 308 posts of different categories in the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for setting up of district level offices in all the 22 districts for implementing the State Litigation Policy. It also accorded sanction to the creation of 110 posts of different categories for functioning of 22 DehiAdalats in the State.The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the adjustment/absorption of substantive staff of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in the State Government in the Department of Rural Development.The Cabinet approved renaming of the Soil Conservation Department as Soil and Water Conservation Department.
